Hook up your Blu-ray Disc™ player

Monster® Blu-ray™ 900 and 1200 Advanced High Speed HDMI™ Cables

With Blu-ray Disc™ you’ll get picture and sound quality like never before. But, it’s also more important than ever to correctly connect your Blu-ray Disc player so you’ll get Full HD 1080p video with Deep Color and lossless surround sound, and BD-Live™. To get all the performance from your player, you need to use a verified High Speed or Ultra High Speed HDMI™ – like those in Monster® Blu-ray Cables for HDMI and the Monster Higher Definition Blu-ray Experience Pack.

For BD-Live features you will need to connect your Blu-ray Disc player to online content. This requires connecting with a quality Ethernet cable that is able to transfer audio and video content from online to your Blu-ray Disc player. An Ethenet cable is included in the Monster Higher Definition Blu-ray Experience Pack.

  2. Connect your Monster Blu-ray HDMI cable to the HDMI out connection on your player.
  3. Connect the other end of your Monster Blu-ray HDMI cable to one of the HDMI inputs on your HDTV.
  4. Connect for BD-Live: Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port (may be labeled LAN 100/1000 or “Internet” or “Ethernet”) on your Blu-ray Disc player.
  5. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the “Network input” on your Monster PowerCenter™ to ensure that your equipment is protected from power surges and spikes.

NOTE: If your router or modem is not near your Blu-ray Disc player, you can use Monster® Digital Express™ PowerNet 200 to turn your electrical outlet into a connection to your home network. You will need to plug in a second PowerNet at the outlet near your router/modem and connect it with another Ethernet cable PowerNet turns your home electrical wiring into a high speed home network.

IF YOU HAVE AN AV RECEIVER: For the best home theater experience, you will want to use an AV Receiver with surround sound. If your receiver has HDMI inputs and outputs,: Connect the HDMI cable from the output of the Blu-ray Disc player to one of the HDMI inputs on your AV Receiver. Then connect a second HDMI cable (using a Monster Blu-ray Cable 900) from the “out to monitor/TV” on your AV receiver, to one of the HDMI inputs on your HDTV. Learn more about how to connect your home theater in Monster Cable’s Connection Guide.
